So denim jeans can be a curvy girl's best friend. But where can you find great plus size jeans and how do you know what cut and style suits you best. Personally I own at least 7 pairs of jeans of various styles from skinny leg to capri, to my current favorites 70's style flares. Good fitting jeans can work as well as control panties on flattening a tum and smoothing lumps and bumps, avoid the dreaded muffin top by wearing tops that aren't too tightly fitted or invest in a tummy smoothing camisole or waist cincher.
Denim Plus Size Dos and Don'ts
If you wear a denim mini skirt then counterbalance the hemline by wearing it with flats or a low heel. Don't wear high heels as it will make the mini even mini-er, if you insist on wearing heels then go for a wedge rather than stiletto heel. You want to look classy not trashy!
Do wear fitted denim pencil skirts. They're just as sexy as a miniskirt and will flatter and accentuate your curves but in a stylish and sophisticated way.
Do find a style and fit of jeans that works for you and stick with it, don't be dicatated to by the latest denim trend. A good pair of jeans can be updated constantly with a trendy top or jacket.
Don't EVER wear tight white denim. It's not even flattering on skinny girls.
Do wear white denim in a flattering fit with a darker top and colorful accesories, this will make your outfit POP!
Don't forget that, despite what many believe, denim does not go with everything. I'm thinking denim, studs and lace...Nooooooo!
Do wear a fitted jacket or blazer with your favorite pair of jeans. If you have curves then go for a jacket with one button at the waist, or if you are apple shaped choose a boxy jacket. This will give you a real pulled together look.
